How our stories link

Our journey begins with Vincent Davies, a London-born-and-bred musician whose story inspired the London Link Project. 

Vincent nominated Sam Emmett, whom he first met while attending Portland Place School. Having known one another for more than fifteen years, their friendship has continued long after leaving school, with each supporting the other's career. If you attend one of Vincent's gigs, there's a good chance you'll find Sam somewhere in the crowd, cheering him on.

Sam Emmett works alongside his father in the family business, specialising in luxury men's shirting. He nominated his wife, Holly Allan.

The pair first met through a mutual friend at Sam's leaving party before his trip to Australia at eighteen.  When he returned, he discovered Holly, the mystery girl at his party, was now firmly cemented in his friendship group. They remained friends for several years before he eventually asked Holly out. They have now been together for eight years and were married at Holly's family home in the countryside last year.

Among the guests celebrating with them was Vincent Davies.

Holly Allan is an artist specialising in contemporary embroidery. She nominated Sam Larner. 

Holly has known Sam since their late teens, when they joined the same close-knit friendship group.  As Sam jokes that Holly ' just appeared' in their friendship group one day and never really left. They grew up through those years together, watching each other’s creative lives develop along the way, while Sam also became close with Holly’s family and her now-husband, Sam Emmett, one of his oldest friends. Years later, their friendship came full circle when Sam conducted Holly and Sam’s wedding ceremony.
